Beauty Haul: April 2017

Today I thought I would share with you what I’ve been buying recently in another beauty haul. I seem to do these quite a lot but I really enjoy writing these posts and you seem to enjoy them too. I have actually tried all of these products now (I’m writing this a while after I’ve bought them) so I’ll also give you a brief review/first impressions on each of them but if I have a full review coming, it’ll say. Let me know if you’ve tried any of these products, tell me what I should buy next and I hope you enjoy.

Kokostar Foot Peeling Pack, £8 – I have wanted to buy a foot peeling pack for a long time and when I saw this in Urban Outfitters I had to buy it. Honestly, it’s probably the best thing I’ve ever purchased. After about a week all of my skin had peeled off my feet and they feel brand new. I also got one of these for my mum and she loved it too. I’d highly recommend these, they really do work. I will have a full review on this up in the middle of May.

Burt’s Bees Hydrating Lip Balm with Coconut & Pear, £3.69 – You may know that Burt’s Bees lip balms are my all time favourite lip balms and so I always have to have at least two in case I loose one of them. I had never tried this particular one (I usually stick to the original – my favourite) but I really like it. The scent is nice, not too overpowering and these lip balms are 100% too. I’ve you’ve never tried one, I’d recommend that you do.

Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder in ‘Transparent,’ £3.99 – This is my favourite powder and the only one that I’ll use so I was repurchasing it as I have to do ever month or two. I intended on getting the shade ‘Peach Glow’ but they didn’t have that so I just got the ‘Transparent’ shade as that obviously works for everyone. This powder just sets my makeup into place all day and keeps my oily skin shine free for hours. I love it and I highly recommend it.

20170325_102929

Bourjois Air Mat Foundation in ‘Rose Ivory,’ £9.99 – I went to repurchase my favourite foundation (Rimmel Wake Me Up) but they didn’t have it in my shade so I just went over to the Bourjois stand as I’ve heard great things about their products and grabbed this one with out looking at the shade or anything. Luckily it is a good colour match and I do really like it. I have a full review of this coming towards the end of June (I have a lot planned) but in the meantime, if you have oily skin, this is a great option.

St Ives Blemish Fighting Apricot Scrub, £4.19 – I went to buy my favourite exfoliator (Garnier Skin Active) and they didn’t have it (I was clearly having a really lucky night!). So, I just had to find an alternative, also containing salicylic acid and I saw this. I’ve also heard that Gigi Hadid uses this so I thought I may as well just try it. I can say that it is amazing and I saw a notable difference in my skin. I’d recommend this and I’ll have a review up in the middle of May.

20170325_102824

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water, £1.99/125ml, £7.99/700ml – I love this, it’s the best micellar water I’ve ever tried. I bought the small one for travelling with and I thought I may as well by the large one just for backup. It just gets my makeup off really well and I’d recommend that you try this if you haven’t already.

La Roche Posay Anthelios XL Anti-Shine SPF50, £16.50 – I needed an SPF50 moisturiser and after doing quite a lot of research, I decided to buy this one. It’s a great SPF (I didn’t get burnt once and there is no tan on my face) but not only did it protect my skin from the sun, it really did reduce the amount of oil on my face. It is the best product I’ve ever used for oily skin and that is a bold statement to make. I couldn’t recommend this enough and there will be a review up in the middle of May.

MAC Amplified Lipstick in ‘Blankety,’ £16.50 – A holiday is not complete without buying a MAC lipstick in duty free. I knew I wanted to get ‘Blankety’ as I’ve heard a lot of good things about it and I wanted an everyday, wearable nude shade that was quite shiny yet fully pigmented. It’s such a good shade and would work well for a lot of skin tones. It would also go with any makeup look, for day or night and I’m really glad I now have this shade in my collection.

What’s In My Travel Makeup Bag? – Tenerife

As you may know, I recently got back from Tenerife and I thought it would be quite nice to share with you what was in my travel makeup bag. I really enjoy reading this type of post as I find them really helpful for discovering new products and for travelling too. I also enjoy writing them so I thought it would be worth doing. I thought it would be a good idea to go through each product, tell you about it, why it’s in there etc. just so you know whether you’ll like them or not. I also tried to take a small amount of products as I was taking hand luggage only. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this and let me know if you’ve tried any of these makeup products.

The Makeup Bag – I’m taking my Ted Baker Katient Small Bow Makeup Bag which fits everything minus the eyeshadow palette and the cream contour kit. It’s the pale pink one with the grey bow which is such good quality and definitely worth the price.

The Summer Bronzer – So, the first thing is the L’Oréal Glam Bronze Bronzing Powder in ‘Caribbean Sun.’ This is my favourite bronzer for bronzing the face and obviously on holiday I want to look as bronze as possible. It has a very, very slight shimmer to it which is lovely for Summer and it’s also the perfect shade for my skin.

The Stunning Highlighter – Next I have one of my all time favourite products, Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in ‘Moonstone.’ You’ve probably heard everyone talking about these highlighters and it’s for a good reason (see my full review here). It is the most finely milled highlighter ever and this shade is perfect. It’s great for adding a natural glow to the skin which is what I want on holiday and in Summer.

The Waterproof Liquid Liner – I don’t wear liquid liner a lot but I need to take it in case I want to put some on. My favourites are from L’Oréal as they are easy to apply and don’t smudge or transfer and the one I’m taking is the L’Oréal Super Liner Black Lacquer Waterproof as it is waterproof perfect for humidity and hot weather.

The Lightweight Concealer – I love lightweight and natural concealers and my favourite is the Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer in ‘Ivory.’ It gives a medium coverage and a radiant finish which I personally love and is great in warmer weather.

The Perfect Powder – As I have oily skin and the weather is hotter which will make it even more oily, powder is 100% necessary. My all time favourite is the Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder in ‘Transparent’ which sets my makeup into place all day and it is just as great as any high end powder.

20170325_102929

The Best Brow Kit – The brow product which I use all the time and have done for a year is the L’Oréal Brow Artist Genius Kit in ‘Light/Medium’ which has a powder and a wax. I can do natural brows for when I have no other makeup on and I can do full brows for when I’m wearing a full face. I couldn’t go a day without this.

The Contour Shade – For contour I actually use the Benefit Hoola Bronzer. It is the perfect shade for my paler skin (however, I am excited for the lighter version in May!, it’s matte and it’s so natural… I just love it! (read my full review here) It has khaki undertones but it’s also great for bronzing up the face too.

The Smudge Proof Mascara – My favourite mascara ever is the Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara in ‘Black’. It is volumising, lengthening and even though it’s not waterproof it’s completely smudge proof. If you are looking for a waterproof mascara, the waterproof version of this is so waterproof you won’t be able to get it off.

The Matte Foundation – I’m currently trying out the Bourjois Air Mat Foundation in ‘Rose Ivory’ which I will do a full review on soon. It is a matte foundation and it keeps my oily skin shine free for a number of hours.  It’s important in hot weather for me to wear a matte foundation or it wouldn’t be on my face after half an hour.

The Perfect Palette – The Urban Decay Naked 3 Eyeshadow Palette is my go to eyeshadow palette as it has some stunning pink shades, an array of brown shades, a matte white and also a black. The quality of these is very good, the packaging is very sturdy so it’s perfect for travelling and there is also a good mirror which is great.

The Matte Eye Primer – I think eyeshadow primer is such a necessary step as it keeps my eyeshadow on for so much longer without fading, smudging or creasing. My favourite is the Urban Decay Eden Eyeshadow Primer Potion as it’s completely matte so works with ever look.

20161217_142838.jpg

The Contour Kit – I don’t often use my Sleek Cream Contour Kit in ‘Medium’ as it’s too dark for me usually and I find contouring with powder easier. However I thought it would be perfect now as it has darker shades and I’m going to be fake tanning, I can use it to darken my foundation and it also has a large mirror which I’ll use for doing my makeup.

The Nude Lip – My current favourite nude lipstick is MAC Satin Lipstick in ‘Viva Glam II’ as it is a medium nude shade with a bit of pink in it. It has a satin finish so it’s comfortable on the lips yet it is very opaque and long lasting.

The Liquid Lipstick – I wanted to take a liquid lipstick and a true nude shade with no undertone so I’m taking my NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in ‘Abu Dhabi.’ It is a medium nude with no undertones and it is so comfortable on the lips you can barely feel it.

The Bright Lip – As I already had two nudes I thought I would take a bright lip as they look great with a tan. I decided on the Stila Color Balm Lipstick in ‘Avery’ as it’s a stunning coral pink shade and it has the nicest lip balm like formula yet is so opaque and long lasting.

The Versatile Lip Liner – As I’m taking three quite different lip options I wanted to take a lip liner that works well with all of them. I chose the Model Co Illusion Lip Liner as its a ‘your lips but better’ shade and it seems to work with anything.

Easter Sunday GRWM

As it’s Easter Sunday today I thought I’d do a get ready with me. I don’t celebrate Easter for religious reasons but my family come over and stuff. I just thought I’d just tell you what skincare I did prior to my makeup as I don’t think I’ve done that before, what I did with my hair and all about the makeup I wore as I really enjoy writing these kind of posts. Whether or not you’re celebrating Easter I hope you have an amazing day and I really hope you enjoy this.

The first thing I did was apply a facemask. I don’t do this all the time but today I just decided that I wanted to. I used the Anne Semonin Mineral Mask and I’ll do a post soon with my opinions on it. I then exfoliated my skin in preparation for makeup. The exfoliator I’m currently using is the St Ives Blemish Fighting Apricot Scrub which I’ve only just started using. I don’t have a full opinion on it yet but I’ll be sure to let you know when I do. I then moisturised my skin with some E45 Cream to rehydrated my skin and to create a good base for my makeup.

I couldn’t be bothered doing anything with my hair so I just straightened it with the ghd IV Styler. I would highly recommend these straighteners as they are such good quality and I’ve had them for about ten years.

20170325_102929

I’m actually trying out a new foundation at the moment. It’s the Bourjois Air Mat Foundation in ‘Rose Ivory’ which I’ll review as soon as I feel like I’ve used it enough to do so. I love the packaging of this foundation and it’s so travel friendly which is great. I then used the Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer in ‘Ivory’ which you all know I really like as it is lightweight and natural. I then primed my eyes using the Urban Decay Eden Eyeshadow Primer Potion which is amazing and it keeps my eyeshadow on all day with no creasing. I then set my under eyes, eyelids and the rest of my face with my favourite powder ever, the Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder in ‘Transparent.’ I then did my eyebrows with the L’Oréal Brow Artist Genius Kit in ‘Light/Medium’ which is the product I’ve been using and loving for around a year now. I defined my arches with the wax and filled them in with the powder.

I then contoured my cheekbones, jawline and nose with the Benefit Hoola Bronzer which is matte and is the perfect shade for me. They have an even lighter version coming out at the end of May which I’m really excited about. I also used this to bronze up my forehead. I then used my favourite highlighter which is the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in ‘Moonstone.’ It’s the most finely milled and beautiful highlighter and it’s the most gorgeous colour too. I just did a super simple eyeshadow look using my Stila In The Moment Eyeshadow Palette. I just used the shade ‘Wonder’ all over the eyelid and then put the shade ‘Instinct’ in the inner corner. I then used my favourite mascara ever which you’ve all heard me talk about a million times. It’s the Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara in ‘Black’ which is just so volumising and lifting.

Before putting my lipstick on I just put on some lip balm. The one I’m using at the moment is the Burt’s Bees Hydrating Lip Balm with Coconut & Pear. I then used my favourite drugstore lip liner which is the MUA Lip Liner in ‘Caramel Nougat’ and I used the MAC Cremesheen Lipstick in ‘Crème Cup’ which is probably my favourite lipstick of all time.

My Everyday Makeup – April 2017

I’m going to be sharing with you what my everyday makeup routine is and what products I’m loving at the moment. I did my last everyday makeup routine back in December so I thought it would be about time that I did another. I really enjoy writing this type of posts and you seem to enjoy them but let me know if you do so I know if I should do another one in the future. Anyway, I really hope you enjoy this and let me know what you’re current favorite makeup products are.

The first thing I do is apply my foundation. I use the Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation in ‘Light Porcelain’ which you have all heard me talk about a million times before. It gives a natural radiant finish while offering a light/medium buildable coverage. To buff this into my skin I’ve been using the Real Techniques Multi Task Brush which I find distributes the product evenly giving the most natural coverage which is what I want for day to day wear. The concealer I use is the Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer in ‘Ivory’ which I don’t feel like anyone really talks about anymore, but it’s a great concealer for under the eyes as it is really lightweight and overs a light/medium coverage. Next I prime my eyes using the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion in ‘Eden’ which I think is a really important step as it ensures that your eyeshadow will last all day without creasing or smudging. I set my eyelids and under eye area using the lighter powder from the Seventeen Define & Conquer Contour Kit in ‘Medium.’ Then I set the rest of my face using my favorite powder ever, Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder in ‘Peach Glow.’ It is only £4 and it works so well. I apply this using my Real Techniques Powder Brush.

20161217_142559.jpg

Next I fill in my eyebrows using the L’Oréal Brow Artist Genius Kit in ‘Light/Medium.’ I love the brow products from L’Oréal as they are cool toned and ashy. If you want to see my full opinions on this product, check out my review. I use the wax to define and shape my brows before filling them in with the powder. I then use my Benefit Hoola Bronzer to contour and bronze my face. If you want to know more information about this product, check out my review. It’s the perfect shade for both bronzing and contouring as it’s not too cool and ashy but it’s not to warm and red either. I use the Real Techniques Sculpting Brush to contour my jawline, cheekbones and nose. I then use the Real Techniques Multi Task Brush to bronze my forehead and neck. Then for one of my favorite parts of my makeup routine, I use the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in ‘Moonstone’ to highlight my face. I apply it to the tops of my cheekbones, the tip of my nose, my cupids bow, on my brow bone and in my inner corners. It is the most beautiful colour and it’s so finely milled – deffinetly worth the money! If you want to know more about it, check out my review.

wp-image-113900932jpg.jpg

My eyeshadow is slightly different everyday but I thought I’d share with you two of my current favorite looks. So, look number one. I blend some of my Benefit Hoola Bronzer which is my contour/bronzer shade into the crease. I then take my Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette and put the shade ‘Trick’ all over the eyelid. For the second look, I take the same palette and put the shade ‘Limit’ in the crease as a transition shade and then also blend the shade ‘Nooner’ into the crease too to deepen it a bit. I also take the same shade under my eye. I add a little bit of the shade ‘Dust’ on the eye to add some shimmer. I use my all time favorite mascara, Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara in ‘Black.’ To see my thoughts on this and why I love it so much, check out my review.

20160726_123751.jpg

I use a different lip product almost every single day depending on what look I’m going for and what eyeshadow I’ve used etc. so I’m just going to share my two current favorites. But before I do, I want to mention that the lip liner I always use is the Model Co Illusion Lip Liner. It’s the perfect shade for any nude/pale pink lipstick. I’ve rekindled my love for my first ever MAC lipstick. It is the MAC Cremesheen Lipstick in ‘Crème Cup.’ It is a pale blue toned pink which for me, is really easy to wear and is the perfect spring colour – it goes perfectly with the second eyeshadow look I mentioned. To see my full opinions check out my MAC lipstick collection where I talk about this. The second lipstick I’ve been loving is my most recently purchased MAC lipstick which is the MAC Satin Lipstick in ‘Viva Glam II.’ It’s a gorgeous nude colour which isn’t too brown and isn’t too pink – it’s just perfect. This lipstick isn’t included in my MAC lipstick collection as I wrote it before I got this lipstick. I’ll do another one soon but I’ll definitely be buying a few more tomorrow in duty free. I also sometimes add some lipgloss over my lipsticks and if I do it’s the NYX Butter Gloss in ‘Fortune Cookie.’ These lip glosses are so affordable but have an amazing non-sticky formula.

My Current Makeup Picks

Today I thought I’d share with you some of my current makeup picks. I find it really interesting knowing what products people are currently using/loving so I thought some of you might enjoy this. I won’t be showing you everything that’s in my makeup bag because I feel like I’ve spoken about certain things far too much. Let me know what products you’re currently using/loving and I hope you enjoy this post!

The first thing I have that I want to mention is the MUA Hide & Conceal Concealer in ‘Natural’ which I discovered recently when I was going through my makeup. I think it was one of my first concealers and after trying it out again I’ve found that it’s actually quite good. I probably won’t repurchase it but I’m using it until it’s finished as it has a good high coverage which blends well. There seven different shades available which is fairly good for a drugstore brand and I’d recommend this concealer to anyone on a budget. A new addition to my makeup collection is the Benefit Hoola Bronzer. I only bought it about two months ago but it’s already become one of my favorite products of all time. It is the perfect matte bronzer shade for pale to light olive skin tones and it looks so natural. I use it as a contour shade and it’s just the best thing ever. It is so easy to blend and it is just perfect for my skin tone. I’d highly recommend this as either a bronzer or a contour shade. The next thing is also another new addition and possibly the most exciting thing ever. It’s the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in ‘Moonstone’ which is most definitely worth the price. It is a gorgeous pale gold shade and it is so finely milled and buttery so rather than looking like you have shimmer all over your face, it makes you look like your glowing from within. So even though it’s a very ‘wow!’ highlighter, it is still natural looking if you know what I mean. I would highly recommend this if you are willing to spend the money, it’s incredible.

wp-image-113900932jpg.jpg

As most of you know, my favorite and probably most used eyeshadow palette is the Urban Decay Naked 3 and I’m going to talk about my current favorite shades. Recently I’ve been loving the shade ‘Trick‘ which is a shimmery copper/bronze shade. I like to use this on my eyelid as the main colour and I like to but my contour shade which I previously mentioned, in my crease. Another shade which I’ve been using a lot recently is ‘Factory.’ It’s a slightly shimmery medium neutral toned brown which I like to use on an angled liner brush to use on my lash line to make it look darker and thicker. All of the eyeshadows in this palette are so pigmented, easy to blend and last all day without fading or creasing at all. I’d recommend the palette if you like pink eyeshadows and cooler brown shades – I think it would best suit people who have neutral/cool undertones. I’m also currently back to using my favorite mascara of all time, the Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara. I think it’s the mascara wand that makes my eyelashes look so good and makes this mascara stand out to me as my favorite. It separates, lengthens and volumises my eyelashes and it does not smudge at all even when my eyes water or when I cry, usually from laughing too much. Next time you need a new mascara, I’d recommend this.

20160726_123751.jpg

Recently I have been using and loving my first ever MAC lipstick which is MAC Cremesheen Lipstick in ‘Crème Cup.’ It is a beautiful pale pink shade which is really creamy and comfortable on the lips. It is the perfect everyday shade but it is also amazing for more glam night looks. It needs reapplying throughout the day but it has a decent amount of staying power and it’s got a lovely finish. And the other lipstick is also an old favorite from MAC and it’s MAC Matte Lipstick in ‘Honeylove.’ I used to use this constantly and it was my favorite lipstick for a long time but I’m starting to rekindle my love for it. It’s a neutral matte nude which would suit anyone and would look amazing with any makeup look. It is very pigmented and it stays on the lips all day but it’s not drying at all – it’s the perfect matte nude lipstick. I’ve also been loving lipgloss recently and the one I’ve been using the most is the No7 BB Lips in ‘Ballerina.’ It is non-sticky, moisturising and comfortable on the lips. The colour is a pale nude with a hint of pink which just looks beautiful on the lips. It’s probably my all time favorite lipstick.

40 Beauty Questions Tag!

Today I thought I’d do a tag as I’ve not done one in ages and when I do them you all seem to really enjoy them. I googled some and I decided to do the 40 beauty questions tag because it seems like a great way to learn about peoples beauty rituals. If you do this tag make sure to let me know so I can read your answers to these questions and I really hope that you enjoy this!

1. How many times do you wash your face daily?
I wash my face twice daily. I like to wash my face when I wake up in the morning and then again at night when I’m getting ready for bed.

2. What skin type do you have?
I have combination skin. So my t-zone is quite oily and I have fairly large pores and my cheeks are quite dehydrated and feel really dry. It can be quite annoying having this skin type but over the years I’ve picked up lots of tips to help me manage it.

3. What is your current facial wash?
I use the same facial wash morning and night and it’s the Garnier Skin Active Exfoliating Wash which is amazing for oily skin, prevents and treats spots because it contains salicylic acid and it’s affordable too. Garnier do some amazing face washes.

4. Do you exfoliate?
Yes, my facial wash which I just mentioned is an exfoliator so I lightly exfoliate my skin twice daily. People will tell me that’s too often but I have oily skin so I need to keep it clean and my pores unblocked.

5. What brand do you use?
A bit of an irrelevant question because as I’ve already mentioned, the brand of facial wash I use is Garnier.

6. What moisturiser do you use?
I use E45 Cream as my cheeks get so dehydrated and it works surprisingly well with the more oily areas of my face. If you have any recommendations I terms of moisturiser, or anything for that matter, please let me know.

7. Do you have freckles?
Yes and I love them! As it’s currently Winter they’re barely visible and I miss them so much! And I personally don’t like drawn on freckles so I can’t even do that – they DO NOT look real at all!

8. Do you use eye cream?
No I don’t. Should I? Let me know!

9. Do you or did you have acne prone skin?
Inevitably, I do due to my oily t-zone but it’s not too bad and I’ve found ways to manage it well.

10. Did you ever have to use Pro-activ?
No, I’ve never had to use Pro-activ.

11. What foundation do you use?
The foundation I use is Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation. It’s perfect for everyday wear as it has a medium and luminous coverage with a natural finish. It also works well with most skin types and it’s also affordable.

12. How about concealer?
I use the matching concealer to my foundation which is Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer. It’s especially good for under eyes due to it’s light consistency and illuminating effect but it can be used all over the face.

13. Do you know your undertone colour?
I think my undertone is fairly neutral – not cool or warm. It’s great because a lot more suits me as I can wear cool or warm colours.

14. What do you think of fake eyelashes?
If they are applied properly and they fit the persons eye size and shape well then I think they can look amazing. Personally, I don’t wear them often but I do wear natural lashes when I do.

15. Did you know you are supposed to change your mascara every three months?
I did, but who actually does that? It’s more like every six to eight months for me… I don’t think that’s too bad though as I keep my makeup clean and I’d never share a mascara.

16. What brand of mascara do you use?
The brand of mascara I use is Maybelline, specifically Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara. It’s amazing and so affordable so next time you need a mascara try this. The wand is like no other! Let me know what mascara I should try next though.

17. Sephora or MAC?
Well, I live in the UK so I only have the chance to shop in Sephora once or twice a year so if we’re talking realistically it would be MAC because I can actually shop there whenever. But if we’re not then I’d chose Sephora because of the wider collection of makeup you can buy there.

18. Do you have a MAC pro-card?
No, I don’t.

19. What makeup tools do you use in makeup application?
I mainly use Real Techniques brushes as they are amazing quality, apply and blend makeup so well and are really affordable too.

20. Do you use a makeup base/primer for the eyes?
I use the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion which I think makes such a difference to the application and wear time of the eyeshadows. I’d highly recommend this to anyone who wears eyeshadow.

wp-image-598063382jpg.jpg

21. For the face?
No, and here’s why. I have large pores due to my oily skin and I find that primer blocks them so much and makes my skin break out quite badly. I don’t find it made any difference in the application or wear time of my makeup so I just don’t think they’re for me.

22. What is your favorite eyeshadow?
It would probably have to be Urban Decay Eyeshadow in ‘Liar’ (from the Naked 3 Palette). It’s such a pretty mid brown shimmery shade that is perfect for every occasion – I love it.

23. Do you use pencil or liquid eyeliner?
I use both because they’re completely different things. For pencil liner I love Lancôme Le Crayon Kohl Eye Pencil as it’s easy to apply and last well. For liquid liner I love either L’Oréal Super Liner Perfect Slim or L’Oréal Super Liner Black Lacquer Waterproof as they are so easy to use and last so well. I usually just tend to use a brown or a black eyeshadow rather than an eyeliner as it’s so much easier.

24. How often do you poke your eyes with an eyeliner pencil?
Quite rarely, but when it does happen it’s a disaster as your eyes start watering, taking off all of your eye makeup and ruining your base too. Huge first world problem right there!

25. What do you think of pigment eyeshadows?
I have a few pigment eyeshadows but I rarely use them as they’re best for nights out. And even then I forget about them and just stick to normal eyeshadow.

26. Do you use mineral makeup?
I don’t. Let me know if you do and what’s better or worse about it than normal makeup – I’d be interested to know.

27. What is your favorite lipstick?
How am I supposed to answer that?! That’s like asking someone to pick their favorite child! It’s impossible! *Thinks for about 5 minutes, comparing the wearability (is that a word?) in all situations* I hate to choose but it would have to be MAC Satin Lipstick in ‘Faux.’ It’s probably my most worn lipstick as it’s a gorgeous feminine mid-pink toned nude. It could be worn with any makeup look on anyone.

28. How about lipgloss?
It would have to be No7 BB Lips Beauty Balm in ‘Ballerina’ as it has a non-sticky formula and the colour is a beautiful pale pink which suits me well and is so wearable.

29. What is your favorite blush?
I personally don’t think blush suits me what so ever and I only like bronzy/nude shades on other people or I personally think it can ruin their makeup. Let me know if you have any natural blushers that you can recommend to me.

30. Do you buy your makeup on Ebay?
No. I don’t think I’d ever feel comfortable doing that as you never know who is selling it. I’d rather go into store or order from an official makeup website.

31. Do you like drugstore makeup?
Yes, I love drugstore makeup! I think a lot of it is as good as or better than a lot of high end products. I do love some high end items more (eyeshadow, bronzer, highlighter) but for the most part, I use and love drugstore makeup.

32. Do you go to CCO’s (cosmetic company outlets)?
No, I don’t.

33. Did you ever consider taking makeup classes?
I don’t feel like taking a makeup class would be necessary for me as I find it really easy to learn things from YouTube, beauty blogs etc. and so I think it would be a waste of money. I don’t know if I will in the future though.

34. Are you clumsy in putting on makeup?
I can be quite clumsy when I’m applying mascara. I watch makeup tutorials and people are putting on their mascara perfectly well, making no mess. Then there’s me running my eyeshadow and getting it everywhere. Maybe it’s not as bad as that but I just can’t seem to apply mascara! When I’m doing everything else however, I’m fine.

35. Name a makeup crime that you hate?
I’m personally not really a fan of blusher that looks bright pink on the cheeks. I think the focus should be more on the eyes or the lips and it also makes the cheeks look less defined, and ruins the contour and highlight. If you love bright pink blusher, don’t be offended! You do you and I’m sure you look great!

36. Do you like colourful shades of makeup (lipstick, eyeshadow) or neutral ones?
I usually stick to neutral shades on both the eyes and lips but I’d really like to start wearing more colourful shades of lipstick, I think I’ll start in the Summer. I think certain people really suit colourful shades of makeup and others really suit more neutral shades and I suit neutral shades more.

37. Which celebrity always has great makeup?
There is no specific celebrity that I can think of because literally all of them look amazing all the time. I mean, if you had that much money how could you not?

38. If you could leave the house using just one makeup item, what would you use?
I’d use my L’Oréal Brow Artist Genius Kit to fill in my eyebrows. I frequently leave the house with only my eyebrows on.

39. Could you ever leave the house without any makeup on?
Yes I do it all the time. I love the way I look with and without makeup on but that confidence has come with time so if you’re not there yet, don’t worry!

40. In your opinion, what is the best makeup line?
That’s almost impossible to answer! For drugstore makeup I’d pick L’Oréal as their products are amazing quality and for high end makeup I’d pick MAC as they have a great variation of products. Both brands together, everything you’d ever need!

Beauty Haul – January 2017

I’m going to be doing another beauty haul which is really exciting. These are all things that I bought before Christmas but I’ll be doing another beauty haul at the start of February showing you what I bought with some of my Christmas money. I’ll give you a review on the things I’ve already tried (which I think is everything), let you know why I bought them etc. I really hope you enjoy this post and let me know what beauty items I should buy next.

MAC Cleansing Oil, £21 – I just thought I’d give this a try because I want to start investing more in my skincare this year. Obviously it’s an oil but it’s a lot messier than I thought it would be – there was oil everywhere which was probably user error, I always make such a mess. Anyway, it wasn’t what I expected really. It isn’t the best makeup remover I’ve ever tried. I haven’t used it very many times so I can’t give my full opinion yet (when I’m finished it I will) but I think my Garnier Micellar Water is better and it’s only a quarter of the price. I think I do regret buying this but let me know if you have this and let me know what you think of it.

MAC Satin Lipstick in ‘Viva Glam II,’ £15.50 – I decided I wanted another MAC lipstick annoyingly straight after I uploaded my MAC lipstick collection (well done!) so I went into MAC and had a look at the lipsticks. I planned on getting ‘Yash’ but after seeing it in person I came to the conclusion that I really didn’t like it. I was then really undecided on whether to get this or ‘Velvet Teddy.’ In the end I decided to get this based on the fact that it’s a Viva Glam lipstick and the full proceeds go to the MAC AIDS Fund. It is such a pretty colour which is a light/medium nude/mauve colour which has a touch of pink in it. It’s really pretty and suits my neutral pale beige skin tone really well. It’s also a satin finish (one of my favorites from MAC) so it’s very opaque, long lasting but not drying in the slightest.

Aloe Pura Aloe Vera Gel with Tea Tree, £5.69 – I bought this after I heard Kathleen Lights talking about how much aloe vera helped her skin in this video. I also did quite a bit of research before buying it to see exactly how it worked and what benefits it had etc. so if you are considering buying it I’d recommend that you do a little bit of research too. I’m going to do a whole post on it in about a months time (so if you’d like to see that make sure your following me) so I won’t go into to much detail at the moment. I will say that I think it has made a difference to my skin but do note that my skin isn’t too bad, I only have a couple of small breakouts per week.

Maybelline Baby Lips in ‘Mint Candy,’ £2.99 – It was actually my sister who bought me this but I thought I’d include it anyway as it is something new that I got. I never really got the hype about the Baby Lips lip balms until I tried this particular one. They all have a really nice creamy, moisturising and hydrating formula but I just love this one a lot. It looks like a very pale pink colour and when I have makeup on and my face has more colour to it is very true to colour and gives a really pretty wash of colour. However when I have no makeup on and I look paler it is colourless which I don’t have an issue with as when I have no makeup on I don’t want to have any colour on my lips. I really like this and I’d recommend it.

Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder in ‘Peach Glow,’ £3.99 – If you know anything about me, you’ll know that I love this powder and I literally could not live without it. Okay, maybe I could live but I certainly couldn’t do my makeup! I won’t go on about it too much as I feel like I talk about it all the time but if you’ve not already tried this I would highly recommend that you do. It just sets my makeup and keeps my oily skin completely shine free for about 5 hours. I just love this and will forever repurchase it, it’s just the best.

Boots Tea Tree & Which Hazel 6 Nose Pore Strips, £4.99 – I got these to remove the dirt and oil etc. from the pores on my nose (obviously). These do not work. I followed all of the directions on the back of the box and the just do not work. I have tried them multiple times and not once have they removed anything from more than ten pores. I wouldn’t recommend these but let me know if they work for you and let me know if you know of any nose pore strips which actually work.
