Beauty Haul: April 2017

Today I thought I would share with you what I’ve been buying recently in another beauty haul. I seem to do these quite a lot but I really enjoy writing these posts and you seem to enjoy them too. I have actually tried all of these products now (I’m writing this a while after I’ve bought them) so I’ll also give you a brief review/first impressions on each of them but if I have a full review coming, it’ll say. Let me know if you’ve tried any of these products, tell me what I should buy next and I hope you enjoy.

Kokostar Foot Peeling Pack, £8 – I have wanted to buy a foot peeling pack for a long time and when I saw this in Urban Outfitters I had to buy it. Honestly, it’s probably the best thing I’ve ever purchased. After about a week all of my skin had peeled off my feet and they feel brand new. I also got one of these for my mum and she loved it too. I’d highly recommend these, they really do work. I will have a full review on this up in the middle of May.

Burt’s Bees Hydrating Lip Balm with Coconut & Pear, £3.69 – You may know that Burt’s Bees lip balms are my all time favourite lip balms and so I always have to have at least two in case I loose one of them. I had never tried this particular one (I usually stick to the original – my favourite) but I really like it. The scent is nice, not too overpowering and these lip balms are 100% too. I’ve you’ve never tried one, I’d recommend that you do.

Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder in ‘Transparent,’ £3.99 – This is my favourite powder and the only one that I’ll use so I was repurchasing it as I have to do ever month or two. I intended on getting the shade ‘Peach Glow’ but they didn’t have that so I just got the ‘Transparent’ shade as that obviously works for everyone. This powder just sets my makeup into place all day and keeps my oily skin shine free for hours. I love it and I highly recommend it.

20170325_102929

Bourjois Air Mat Foundation in ‘Rose Ivory,’ £9.99 – I went to repurchase my favourite foundation (Rimmel Wake Me Up) but they didn’t have it in my shade so I just went over to the Bourjois stand as I’ve heard great things about their products and grabbed this one with out looking at the shade or anything. Luckily it is a good colour match and I do really like it. I have a full review of this coming towards the end of June (I have a lot planned) but in the meantime, if you have oily skin, this is a great option.

St Ives Blemish Fighting Apricot Scrub, £4.19 – I went to buy my favourite exfoliator (Garnier Skin Active) and they didn’t have it (I was clearly having a really lucky night!). So, I just had to find an alternative, also containing salicylic acid and I saw this. I’ve also heard that Gigi Hadid uses this so I thought I may as well just try it. I can say that it is amazing and I saw a notable difference in my skin. I’d recommend this and I’ll have a review up in the middle of May.

20170325_102824

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water, £1.99/125ml, £7.99/700ml – I love this, it’s the best micellar water I’ve ever tried. I bought the small one for travelling with and I thought I may as well by the large one just for backup. It just gets my makeup off really well and I’d recommend that you try this if you haven’t already.

La Roche Posay Anthelios XL Anti-Shine SPF50, £16.50 – I needed an SPF50 moisturiser and after doing quite a lot of research, I decided to buy this one. It’s a great SPF (I didn’t get burnt once and there is no tan on my face) but not only did it protect my skin from the sun, it really did reduce the amount of oil on my face. It is the best product I’ve ever used for oily skin and that is a bold statement to make. I couldn’t recommend this enough and there will be a review up in the middle of May.

MAC Amplified Lipstick in ‘Blankety,’ £16.50 – A holiday is not complete without buying a MAC lipstick in duty free. I knew I wanted to get ‘Blankety’ as I’ve heard a lot of good things about it and I wanted an everyday, wearable nude shade that was quite shiny yet fully pigmented. It’s such a good shade and would work well for a lot of skin tones. It would also go with any makeup look, for day or night and I’m really glad I now have this shade in my collection.

Beauty Haul: February 2017

I’m aware that I’ve just done a beauty haul a couple of weeks ago but I’ve been doing a lot of shopping recently. This is what I bought with some of my Christmas money and I’m sure there will be more beauty hauls soon. With all of the products that I’ve tried so far, I’ll do a mini review but full reviews of everything will be up in the near future. Let me know what products I should buy next and let me know if you’ve tried any of these products. I hope you enjoy!

Benefit Hoola Bronzer, £23.50 – I just had to try this because it’s literally everyone’s favorite bronzer. It’s the perfect bronzer for pale skin and it’s the perfect contour shade to as it has quite an ashy tone. The first time I tried it I realised why everyone loves it so much. I use it for contouring my jawline, cheekbones and nose – it really is the perfect shade. I use a different bronzer for bronzing as I like my bronzer to be less ashy and more ‘un-natural’ I guess. This really is an amazing bronzer/contour shade for paler skin and I’d highly recommend it to those who have paler skin – it really is worth the money.

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in ‘Moonstone,’ £32 – Over the past year or so I’ve heard so many talking about these shimmering skin perfectors, particularly ‘Champagne Pop.’ I originally intended on buying that one but when I went into my local Space NK, I swatched them and I actually much preferred ‘Moonstone’ which is a gorgeous pale gold shade. If you have slightly paler skin, I think you might like ‘Moonstone’ better too. They were all sold out but as soon as I got home I ordered it. As soon as I applied it I immediately understood why everyone loves it so much. There are great cheaper highlighters but I think they look glittery on the face, however this is so finely milled and it makes you look like you’re lit from within. I love it and I’d highly recommend it.

Rodial Super Acids X-treme Acid Rush Peel, £75 – Firstly, I did not buy this, it was a sample from Space NK. I chose all skincare samples because this year I really want to buy better and try more skincare products so please, if you have any recommendations, let me know! It only had 1ml in it and I thought that that was ridiculous, I thought it would barely cover one cheek. I was wrong, it went such a long way and covered my whole face! I put this on before bed, washed it off and when I woke up my skin just looked amazing! I’ll do a full review of this sample and the following too so look out for that! I’d love to buy this but it’s just so expensive!

REN Wake Wonderful Night-Time Facial, £32 – Again, I didn’t buy this it was just another sample. The concept of an overnight facial treatment really appealed to me for some reason so I decided to get this. I haven’t got round to trying this yet but look out for the review that I’ll do once I have. It’s a 2ml sample, so it’ll be enough to cover my face which is great. On the website it says that it “works overnight to leave skin visibly brighter, more luminous, refined and even-toned by morning.” I’m excited to try this and let me know how you got on with this if you’ve tried it.

wp-image-113900932jpg.jpg

Anne Semonin Mineral Mask, £42 – I feel like I’m just repeating myself but I didn’t buy this, it’s a sample too! I love a face mask but I’ve never found one that I love (recommendations please!) so I thought this one might be worth a try! Again, I haven’t tried this yet but I’m really excited to. It says it’s rich in natural marine elements and it says it’s for congested and devitalised skin which sounds a lot like my skin. I’ve you’ve ever tried this let me know what you thought of it, I’d love to know! I’ll do full reviews on this when I’ve tried it – I have a feeling I’ll love it a lot.

Beauty Haul – January 2017

I’m going to be doing another beauty haul which is really exciting. These are all things that I bought before Christmas but I’ll be doing another beauty haul at the start of February showing you what I bought with some of my Christmas money. I’ll give you a review on the things I’ve already tried (which I think is everything), let you know why I bought them etc. I really hope you enjoy this post and let me know what beauty items I should buy next.

MAC Cleansing Oil, £21 – I just thought I’d give this a try because I want to start investing more in my skincare this year. Obviously it’s an oil but it’s a lot messier than I thought it would be – there was oil everywhere which was probably user error, I always make such a mess. Anyway, it wasn’t what I expected really. It isn’t the best makeup remover I’ve ever tried. I haven’t used it very many times so I can’t give my full opinion yet (when I’m finished it I will) but I think my Garnier Micellar Water is better and it’s only a quarter of the price. I think I do regret buying this but let me know if you have this and let me know what you think of it.

MAC Satin Lipstick in ‘Viva Glam II,’ £15.50 – I decided I wanted another MAC lipstick annoyingly straight after I uploaded my MAC lipstick collection (well done!) so I went into MAC and had a look at the lipsticks. I planned on getting ‘Yash’ but after seeing it in person I came to the conclusion that I really didn’t like it. I was then really undecided on whether to get this or ‘Velvet Teddy.’ In the end I decided to get this based on the fact that it’s a Viva Glam lipstick and the full proceeds go to the MAC AIDS Fund. It is such a pretty colour which is a light/medium nude/mauve colour which has a touch of pink in it. It’s really pretty and suits my neutral pale beige skin tone really well. It’s also a satin finish (one of my favorites from MAC) so it’s very opaque, long lasting but not drying in the slightest.

Aloe Pura Aloe Vera Gel with Tea Tree, £5.69 – I bought this after I heard Kathleen Lights talking about how much aloe vera helped her skin in this video. I also did quite a bit of research before buying it to see exactly how it worked and what benefits it had etc. so if you are considering buying it I’d recommend that you do a little bit of research too. I’m going to do a whole post on it in about a months time (so if you’d like to see that make sure your following me) so I won’t go into to much detail at the moment. I will say that I think it has made a difference to my skin but do note that my skin isn’t too bad, I only have a couple of small breakouts per week.

Maybelline Baby Lips in ‘Mint Candy,’ £2.99 – It was actually my sister who bought me this but I thought I’d include it anyway as it is something new that I got. I never really got the hype about the Baby Lips lip balms until I tried this particular one. They all have a really nice creamy, moisturising and hydrating formula but I just love this one a lot. It looks like a very pale pink colour and when I have makeup on and my face has more colour to it is very true to colour and gives a really pretty wash of colour. However when I have no makeup on and I look paler it is colourless which I don’t have an issue with as when I have no makeup on I don’t want to have any colour on my lips. I really like this and I’d recommend it.

Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder in ‘Peach Glow,’ £3.99 – If you know anything about me, you’ll know that I love this powder and I literally could not live without it. Okay, maybe I could live but I certainly couldn’t do my makeup! I won’t go on about it too much as I feel like I talk about it all the time but if you’ve not already tried this I would highly recommend that you do. It just sets my makeup and keeps my oily skin completely shine free for about 5 hours. I just love this and will forever repurchase it, it’s just the best.

Boots Tea Tree & Which Hazel 6 Nose Pore Strips, £4.99 – I got these to remove the dirt and oil etc. from the pores on my nose (obviously). These do not work. I followed all of the directions on the back of the box and the just do not work. I have tried them multiple times and not once have they removed anything from more than ten pores. I wouldn’t recommend these but let me know if they work for you and let me know if you know of any nose pore strips which actually work.

Beauty Haul: November 2016

Recently I’ve bought some new beauty items and I thought I’d share some of them with you. Let me know what you’ve been buying recently and also let me know what I should buy next.

The first thing I bought was Collection Lasting Perfection Ultimate Wear Lowder in ’01 Fair,’ £4.19 as they didn’t have my colour in Rimmel Stay Matte. I really don’t like this powder at all. I oxidises my foundation so much and makes my face look really cakey. I don’t think I’ll be repurchasing this powder again. Next I repurchased my favorite contour kit, Seventeen Define & Conquer Contour Kit in ‘Medium,’ £5.99. I had finished mine and the colours in this are perfect for my skin tone. They have the perfect amount of pigment and blend beautifully. I also love the packaging of this and it’s great that it has a mirror. As there was a 2 for £8 offer for Seventeen in Boots I decided to try the Seventeen Skin Wow Concealer in ‘Medium,’ £4.99. I haven’t tried the concealer yet but I do love the packaging which reminds me of the YSL Touche Eclat.

Next I went into Lush and bought some things for Christmas presents. I did however let myself keep a couple of things. I just had to buy Lush Candy Mountain Bubble Bar, £2.95, because it’s my favorite Lush product ever and I’ll post a review soon if you like. I also decided to keep Lush Stardust Bath Bomb, £2.95, for myself as it smelt so nice. I haven’t tried this one before but I’ll let you know my thoughts on it.

I needed a new mascara and I decided to go with my all time favorite which I know I love and will always perform well. I accidently picked up Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara in ‘Brown,’ £7.99, instead of black, so I also went back and picked up Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara in ‘Black,’ £7.99. I love this mascara as I said and I’ll do a full reveiw soon.

Beauty Haul: What I Bought in Majorca

Today I’m sharing what I bought during my trip to Majorca. There isn’t very much but I still think it’s worth writing about them as I did get some great products.

I had to stop at the MAC counter in duty free to see what I could find. I bought MAC Satin Lipstick in ‘Faux,’ which is a gorgeous nude pink which looks really grownup and feminine. My Mum bought MAC Amplified Creme Lipstick in ‘Chatterbox,’ which is quite a bright pink coral colour which is perfect for Summer.

Fuller lips have been a massive trend for months now and I got a couple of things so that I could achieve the look. I bought Victorias Secret Very Voluptous Lip Plumer in ‘Baby Pink.’ It really does work and the colour is gorgous. I also got Model Co Illusion Lip Liner which is a one colour suits all. On me it’s a beige nude colour and it somehow does give the illusion of fuller lips.

I also got Clarins Multi Active Jour Day Cream which I can’t say too much about because I haven’t gotten round to trying it yet. I have however heard good things about it.

Highstreet Fashion Haul!

Something a little bit different here today! I’ve recently had a massive clear out of all of my clothes and eventhough I wore none of what I gave to charity, it felt weird having half full drawers. So recently I’ve been picking up some items which I really like so I thought I’d share them with you!

H&M – Black Manhattan Jumper, £5.99

I picked this up while I was uptown with one of my friends a few weeks ago and I really like it. I like my jumpers being slightly oversized on me so I got a size S; usually I’d get an XS. It is black all over with the word ‘Manhattan’ in white print. I have searched the internet but I can’t find it, so here’s a picture of me so you get the idea!

Topshop – Tea & Cake Grey Eagles NFL Cropped Jumper, £32

I was out shopping with my Mum on Monday night and Topshop had a pretty big sale on. I got this jumper for £15! I think it is one of my favorite thing I picked up, and it is slightly cropped on me. It has the Philidelphia Eagles logo on it and I got this in a UK 6 so it fits me well. It isn’t my usual style but I love it (it’s so much nicer on).

Zara – Trafaluc Black Crop Top, £9.95

I still had my Zara gift card from Christmas so I took my friend into the shop and I think we were in there for at least an hour! I got this in the smallest size, which is S, and it fits me perfectly. It is quite a Summery top, and is really cropped but it’s nice. I loved wearing it on holiday!

Zara – White Crop Top, £5.99

I bought this the same time as the previous item and it is just a really basic round neck white crop top. It is made from organic fibres so it feels so nice and I’ll get loads of wear out of it. Again I got it in a size S which is exactly my size in this shop.

Boohoo – Grace Blue & White Baseball T-shirt, £10

I ordered this late one Friday night after having that freak out moment, ‘I don’t have anything to wear!’ I got this in a UK 8 as there were no UK 6 left and it is too big for me, so I just tuck it into my jeans. It has a white a body and light blue sleeves and neck. It’s a really simple piece which I love for day to day wear.

Blue Spice – High Waisted Medium Elise Skinny Jeans, £38

I bought these in TkMax one weekend as they are my favorite jeans ever, as the size US 0 fits me perfectly. I already had a few different pairs of these, so I had to get these which are full length, high waisted, and medium blue coloured. In TkMax they sell for only £14.99 which is amazing!

Beauty Haul: What I bought in France

I love shopping alot, and last week in Paris I did exactly that. There were shops like Sephora and MAC and obviously I just couldn’t help but make a purchase or two. I thought I’d share these things with you, and I can also share my opinions on the things I bought as I’ve been trying them out over the past week.

image

I made my first purchase in a French beauty shop in the center of Bayeux when I was supposed to be at the market. But of course I ended up wondering down the street to see if there was any makeup I could get my hands on. I was looking at the makeup brushes and the one that caught my eye was the Nocibé artiste pinceau double embout smockey which is a smokey dual ended brush. The bristles are really soft, fairly good quality and apply and blend eyeshadow well. It was around €9 if I remember correctly so considering all of that, I’d recommend these brushes.

image

Next thing I know I’m in Paris on the Champs-Elysees. Not a good idea for someone with a spending habit… especially when there’s a Sephora. I bought the Urban Decay naked 3 eyeshadow palette and I’m totally in love with it; it’s stunning! As we all know by now Urban Decay eyeshadows are amazing: they blend well, have amazing pigmentation, and have beautiful colours. The brush that comes in it is good quality to which is good, it was nearly €52! I also got four free samples of the Urban Decay eyeshadow primer potion in original, eden, sin and anti-aging. I’ll let you know how I get on with those.

image

Having spend so long in Sephora, I ended up with five minutes in MAC, ten at the most. Almost instinctivly I ran over to the lipsticks and had a quick look at them. I decided that I could pull of one of the most akward colours according to others, MAC Satin lipstick in ‘snob’. It is a georgeous medium pink but with cool lavender tones. It really suits me with my pale skin, blonde hair and blue eyes but it won’t suit many people so make sure to try it before you buy it! I love the formula as it is so long wearing and feels so comfortable on the lips – I love it.

image

While I was on the ferry from Calais to Dover, I just had to take a look around duty free. I decided to buy L’Oreal True Match foundation in ‘Rose Ivory.’ It is the perfect shade for me but unfortunatly I have to say I hate everything else about it. I was really excited to try it as it has amazing review but it’s just not for me. I’ll do a full review on it soon. Next thing, I’m happy to say I love. As you may know, I love my eyebrows, they’re just my thing. So when I see a good eyebrow product, I have to have it. I bought L’Oreal Brow Artist genius kit in ‘light/medium’ and so far I love it. I used it for the first time whilst in the London traffic before falling asleep and even then, it was so easy. Such a good product!
