One Lovely Blogger Award

So today I’m going a bit of a different post. I was nominated by Rachel from Sitting In The Clouds so I just want to thank her again for that! She has an amazing blog so I would encourage you all to check it out by clicking here. I hope you enjoy this slightly different post and let me know if there are any posts you’d like to see from me.

  • Each nominee must THANK the person who nominated them and link their blog in the post
  • They must include the rules and add the blog award badge as an image
  • Must add 7 facts about them
  • Then nominate 15 people

7 Facts About Me

  1. I am the clumsiest person you will ever meet. I have broken multiple bones and I’m constantly tripping up over nothing.
  2. I have pyrophobia, a fear of fire. It’s quite a strange thing to be scared of especially when there isn’t a reason.
  3. I’m 5’6″ which I think is a good height. Not too short, not too tall, but slightly above average.
  4. I have two siblings. An older brother and an older sister.
  5. If I have a few different foods on my plates I’ll eat them all separately. I’ll eat all of one of the things, then all of the next thing etc. My parents think it’s really weird but my brother and one of my cousins eat that way too.
  6. My star sign is Taurus and the Taurus traits describe me perfectly. Practical, ambitious, independent, loyal, lazy, stubborn, materialistic, possessive…
  7. I love being with my friends and family but I need to be by myself a lot. I get my energy from being alone which I guess isn’t the best all the time but me time is just really important for me.

My Nominees

I’m not going to nominate 15 people, I’m going to nominate five. Like Rachel who nominated me, I only want to nominate people who’s blogs I genuinely like.

Ivana from Ivana Makeup World

Molly from AK Makeup Addict

Huda from Makeup Manic

What I Eat In A Day #1

So today I’m doing my first post titled ‘What I Eat In A Day’ but as some of you will know, it’s not my first what I eat in a day type of post. I used to frequently write posts called ‘What I Ate Wednesday’ but now I don’t post on a Wednesday and I didn’t like the pressure of having to do them every Wednesday. I really love reading and writing these types of posts and I love watching videos like this too as I think they are so interesting and helpful as you can get great meal ideas. I’m not vegan or vegetarian but a lot of the food I eat is plant based vegan so for each meal I’ll let you know if it’s suitable for vegans etc. And me being me, I forgot to take pictures of anything I ate… Sorry! I really hope you enjoy this and let me know if you would like me to continue making these posts.

Breakfast, 07:15
I had porridge which I made with almond milk in the microwave for one minute in a 900W microwave. I added a teaspoonful of milled chia seed and a drizzle of honey. This is suitable for someone eating a plant-based.

  • Porridge oats
  • Unsweetened almond milk
  • Chia seeds
  • Honey

Morning Snack, 10:55
I had a Nakd Bakewell Tart bar which is 100% vegan and wheat, gluten and dairy free. The only ingredients that it contains are dates, cashew nuts, raisins and a hint of natural flavouring. This snack is suitable for vegans and contains one portion of fruit.

  • Dates
  • Cashew nuts
  • Raisins

Lunch, 13:00
I had two small slices of whole wheat seeded bread which I lightly toasted with some medium fat light cream cheese. I had some trout on it as well as cucumber. I also had one and a half carrots. This meal contains approximately one and a half portions of vegetables.

  • Whole wheat seeded bread
  • Cream cheese
  • Trout
  • Cucumber
  • Carrots

Afternoon Snack, 16:30
I had a pink lady apple. This snack contains one portion of fruit and is suitable for vegans.

  • Apple

Dinner, 17:30
I had homemade vegetable soup which was made from fresh vegetables – tomatoes, broccoli, red pepper, yellow pepper, onion. I also had a very large sweet potato. This meal contains approximately four portions of vegetables and is suitable for vegans.

  • Tomatoes
  • Broccoli
  • Pepper
  • Onion
  • Sweet Potato

Evening Snack, 20:00
I had one and a half carrots, pineapple, cantaloupe melon, blackberries and strawberries. I also had a handful of protein rich cereal with two teaspoonful of natural yoghurt, a teaspoonful of milled chia seeds and a drizzle of honey. I had a large cup of decaf green tea. This snack contains approximately one and a half portions of vegetables, two portions of fruit and is suitable for vegetarians.

  • Carrots
  • Pineapple
  • Cantaloupe melon
  • Blackberries
  • Strawberries
  • High protein cereal
  • Natural yoghurt
  • Chia seeds
  • Honey
  • Decaf green tea

This days’ worth of food contained four portions of fruit and seven portions of vegetables in total. I did not include water in this but I drank about 4000-5000ml (yes, I drink a lot!).

Fashion Haul – March ’17

Recently I’ve bought quite a lot of new clothes. Some of it is just general things that I needed and some of it is for Spring/Summer and my holiday that I’m going on soon. I thought I’d share a few of the bits that I’ve been buying as I always like too see what fashion pieces people like so I thought some of you might too and I’ve not done a fashion haul in ages. Anyway, I really hope you enjoy this and please let me know of anywhere that has nice Summer clothes – everywhere still has Winter clothes and I’m in need of more Summer pieces!

Converse Chuck Taylor All Star Core Shoes, £45
I bought these because I needed them. Worst reason for buying something – I did not need them, I wanted them. I got them in a UK 7 which is not my size but they didn’t have my size in stock so now I have pair of shoes that don’t fit me…

ConverseAllStarChuckTaylorAllStarMonoOxBlackTrainers_LRG

H&M Black & White Short T-Shirt, £6.99
I just bought this because it looked quite cute and I convinced myself that I definitely need more tops and I definitely need more black tops because it’s definitely acceptable to have 50 black tops. I got this in an XS which fits well.

Topshop Moto Black Joni Jeans, £36
I needed a new pair of black jeans as I’d had my other pair for three years and eventually the zip broke. Topshop jeans are the best jeans ever, they are so comfy and I’d recommend them to anyone. I got the size W26L32 which fit perfectly.

Dorothy Black High Shine Trim Parka Coat, £55
Even though it’s not even Winter anymore and I won’t need to wear this for much longer (I say that, I live in the UK, I could wear this all year round) I just wanted a new coat. I got it in a UK 8 which is a good fit for a jacket.

ASOS Seersucker Stripe Beach Crop Top Co-ord Blue/White, £16
This is something that I bought for my holiday and for Summer. It’s meant to be worn at the beach over a bikini top but it’s definitely nice enough to be worn off the beach too. I got it in a UK 6 which fits well. I’ve had to link the petite version of this as the one I got seems to be completely out of stock.

Abercrombie & Fitch Black Cross Back Cami, £16
I got this because I really like wearing things like this in Spring and Summer and I thought it might be similar to my favorite one from Topshop. It’s not but I really like it and the back is really nice. I got this in the size XS and it fits perfectly but I’d rather it was oversized.

ASOS Mix and Match Micro Triangle Bikini Top in Rib Mint, £9
I really like ASOS mix and match bikinis because you get to chose the exact style you want. I thought this bikini top because I thought it looked really cute. I do really like it and I got it in the size UK 6 and it fits perfectly.

ASOS Mix and Match Deep Band Brazilian Bikini Bottom in Rib Mint, £9
To match the bikini top I got this bikini bottom because it looked a bit different from normal bikini bottoms. I really like these and ASOS bikinis are really good quality. I got this in a UK 6 too and again, it fits well.

Update: My Skincare Favorites of All Time

Today I’m going to be doing an updated ‘My Skincare Favorites of All Time’ as I realised it was one of my most popular posts in 2016. Since I posted the original post back in July, I realised a lot has changed – I have some new products to share and the products which I’ll be mentioning again, I want to go into a lot more detail about. I want to state right now that I have oily/combination skin, have frequent but minor breakouts and have dehydrated skin. I’ve had a lot of trial and error with skincare and these are my five favorite products that I’ve ever tried. I’d recommend that you check out my original skincare favorites post from last year as those are amazing products but I now favour different ones. I really hope you enjoy this and find it helpful and please let me know what you’re skincare favorites are.

E45 Wash Cream, £4.35 – I’ve been using this for about seven months since I heard Saffron Barker saying that she used it and she has amazing skin. I initially really liked the fact that it is soap free, non foaming and non drying because even though I have oily skin, it’s dehydrated and the last thing I want to do is dehydrate it further which would lead to excess oil production and more blemishes. This is intended to be used to treat dry skin conditions which I don’t have; I don’t even have dry skin at all. I use this to remove my eye makeup, remove my base makeup and for the first cleanse of my skin. I use about half a pump to remove my eye makeup which it does so efficiently and then I use a pump with a little bit of water to remove my base makeup and cleanse my skin. It leaves my skin feeling so soft and this will work so well for all skin types, even sensitive skin. I’d highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a good quality yet affordable cleanser.

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water, £4.99/400ml – I have been using this for around ten months now after everyone was using it and recommending it. As it was so affordable I decided I had to try it. Firstly, it is better than every other micellar water I’ve tried so if your looking for one, get this one. I use this to remove any makeup left on my face after I’ve cleansed my it and it does a significantly good job – a lot better than you get from others of that price. This is perfect for all skin types but there are a few different formulations specifically for different skin types which I am yet to try. I just soak a large cotton pad in this and it gets every last bit of makeup off. I highly recommend this to everyone as I’ve found it’s better than products four times the price of it. It’s a great skincare product to have.

Garnier Pure Active Anti-Blackhead Wash, £3.79 – I’ve been using this amazing product since last Summer when I needed a new exfoliating face wash. Not only did it work well as an exfoliating wash, it reduced the amount of breakouts I had and became one of my all time favorite skincare products (hence why I’m mentioning it in this post). I had heard that the pure active range from Garnier was great for oily/imperfection prone skin due to it’s salicylic acid content but I didn’t think it would actually control oil production without drying out my skin, reduce the amount of breakouts I had and get rid of blackheads. I use this daily and I’m still on my first bottle so it lasts ages too which is great. This isn’t too harsh on the skin but it’s harsh enough that it actually exfoliates properly. If you have dry or sensitive skin I’d steer clear of this but if you have oily/combination and/or acne or blackhead prone skin, I’d highly recommend that you give this a go.

Foreo LUNA Mini Skincare Device, £85 – I got this product for Christmas in 2015 and after having used it for over a year I can tell you with confidence that it has completely changed my skin. I was struggling with blackheads, uneven texture and breakouts. I was fully prepared for this not to work but it really did. I almost immediately noticed a difference and a year later my skin has never looked better (it’s still not great). It removes breakout-causing impurities and excess oil and it has dramatically reduced the amount of blackheads I have and the texture of my skin is a lot more even. It uses T-Sonic pulsations and it is amazing because its really hygienic due to the fact that it’s silicone and also waterproof. I would highly recommend those struggling with any kind of skin issues to seriously consider investing in one of these – it changed my skin and was the answer to my problems, it could be the answer to yours too.

222

Aloe Pura Aloe Vera Gel, £5.99 – I have just recently written a full review on this product which I would recommend that you read as I won’t go into as much detail here. Anyway, I’ve been using this for about three months now after I heard Kathleen Lights talking about how it completely cleared her skin. I figured it would be worth trying as it claimed when I read about it online to reduce breakouts and clear acne scarring. When I first started using it my skin broke out quite badly but that’s normal and I talk about why in the review I did. When that breakout cleared, my whole face looked so much healthier and I’ve noticed my breakouts have been less frequent and less severe. I had very minimal but still noticeable acne scarring which has slightly reduced and become less noticeable but it can take up to two years to fully go away. I’d highly recommend that anyone with any kind of skin issue looks into buying this – it’s a skin saviour.

Benefit Hoola Bronzer Review

Recently I decided to finally buy the Benefit Hoola Bronzer due to the fact that everyone uses it, loves it and highly recommends it. As always, I’ll be giving my honest opinions and telling you if I personally think it’s worth the hype it gets or not. If you’ve tried this let me know your opinions as they might be different from mine and might help other people. I hope you enjoy this post and that you find it helpful if you are considering getting this or are looking for a new bronzer or contour product.

If you haven’t heard about this bronzer, where have you been? It is probably one of the most spoken about and loved bronzers in the beauty world and due to the constant praise I see it receiving I knew I had to stop questioning if I really need it and just get it. So, just after Christmas when I had plenty of money to spare, I headed into my local John Lewis, went to the Benefit counter and bought the bronzer which currently retails for £24.50 (it was cheaper when I bought it only two months ago – has anyone else noticed a lot of makeup going up in price recently?). So, do I think it was worth the money and the hype it gets? If you want the short answer, yes I do, but if you want to know why I think this, why it’s become not only a staple in my everyday makeup routine but an all time favorite product and why I’m going to recommend it to anyone who’ll listen, you’ll want to keep reading.

20170106_150343.jpg

I want to get the only issue out of the way now so I can be positive from here on and so I can give it the praise it really deserves. I would love it if the packaging looked more high-end, more expensive and like it actually cost as much as it did. For £24.50 you would not expect cardboard packaging. Although it is sturdy, it would be nicer if it was sleeker and had more of a luxury feel. I did obviously know what the packaging looked like prior to purchasing it and at the end of the day it is the actual product that matters to me personally. So although it’s not a massive issue, I just wanted to let you know my thoughts on it.

Anyway, onto what I actually think and what you all probably want to know! It’s a matte bronzer with an ashy tone so not only is it the perfect bronzing colour for giving a healthy sun-kissed glow, it is also perfect for contouring, particularly on paler skin tones although it seems to work perfectly for almost all skin tones – it’s such a universal shade. It is so easy to blend and it looks so gorgeous and natural on the skin. It is marketed as a bronzer and even though it works perfectly as one, I personally prefer a warmer bronzer shade so I use it as a contour shade as it’s more ashy. I use it to contour my cheekbones, nose and jawline and it just makes my face look more sculpted yet so natural. It can create a soft, natural look or it can create a more dramatic, sculpted look as it is so buildable.
