Just two days ago, I flew from Edinburgh – Palma de Mallorca which was only a short three hour flight. I have been on much longer international overnight flights, and these can be really stressful. If your an anxious flyer or traveller, I hope these four tips make the lead up to your flight, the flight itself, just the whole experience a little bit more enjoyable.
1. Before travelling have a look at the websites of the airports you will be travelling to; every international airport has a website. The websites tell you all about what you have to do at check in and security so that you know what will be expected and when the time comes it will be quick and stress free. Knowing what to do at security and about the guidelines will make it an easier experience.
2. Read about your airline and all of the airlines rules and this will mean you know what you can and can’t bring with you. If you are taking handluggage only, this is especially important, and will mean that nothing is taken from you that you need.
3. Wear comfortable and practical clothing which means that you are as comfortable on your flight as possible. Layering clothes is a good idea because you will be making the most of the space in your suitcase.
4. Carry essential things that you will need and also some things to keep boredeom to a minimum. I would recommend bringing books, magazines, some headphones. If your an anxious traveller/flyer bring things that relax you or to distract you as much as possible. If you have anxiety or you get a bit nervous, download the app Calm which will help you so much!
